  1. Careful and well-planned design: Even the most precisely designed plans can fall short if participants don’t fully understand the underlying model. By ensuring participants understand the plan fully, you eliminate confusion and increase your participation rate.

  2. Easy access materials: The incentive plan should reflect the company’s look and feel, aligning with its values, culture, and brand identity. Think about where your employees can be reached. Is it through videos, dynamic participant guides that you can easily scroll on your phone, or interactive info sessions?

  3. Motivate towards strategic goals: By clearly articulating how the employee’s individual efforts contribute to the broader vision, participants gain a sense of purpose and direction.

  4. Enthusiasm starts at the top: Enthusiasm is infectious and generates a sense of trust, purpose and determination within the workforce. If plan is well designed, then the management can stand behind it and spread the enthusiasm all over the organization.

  5. Transparency is key: Keeping participants informed and engaged, empowers them to make informed decisions and take ownership of their role in achieving the company’s objectives. All the important documents are important to keep in an easily accessible place for example company’s intranet or third-party portal.

  6. Visualize and simplify: Well-visualized content has a remarkable power to inspire and motivate. Utilize eye-catching graphics, dynamic presentations, and simplified examples to capture participants’ attention and ignite their enthusiasm. In this phase, keep in mind which communication channels do you use to reach the desired target group.

  7. Keep participants up to date: Not only is communication crucial in the beginning of the plan, but to make sure the targets are always kept in mind, ongoing communication, by tracking the performance is important too. A well-informed workforce is a motivated workforce, and motivation is the catalyst for maximizing the plan’s ROI.

Effective communication is the key that unlocks the full potential of your incentive plans.
